Sun Night Reflections
Jumping into I Corinthians 12 was a blast. This series is going to be a ton of fun. Thanks for coming out today. I really enjoyed meeting so many new friends.
For reflection, here are my sermon notes from the weekend:
1 Now concerning spiritual gifts, brothers, I do not want you to be uninformed. 2 You know that when you were pagans you were led astray to mute idols, however you were led. 3 Therefore I want you to understand that no one speaking in the Spirit of God ever says “Jesus is accursed!” and no one can say “Jesus is Lord” except in the Holy Spirit.
1) Realize the Truth (vs. 1)
2) Remember the Past (vs. 2)
3) Recognize the Difference (vs. 3)
This is only possible in Christ!
*I am praying for God to unleash His Spirit in such a way that man can’t get credit. Let’s not settle for a manipulation of spiritual gifts. Let’s bow and ask for the Holy Spirit to move.
Here are a few thoughts about this past weekend:
SATURDAY NIGHTS COME TO AN END…FOR A WHILE – Due to reasons that are out of our control, we are shutting down our Saturday night gatherings on Magazine St. We are hoping that the new renovations will enable us to become even more effective in serving our community. Thanks for being flexible. It is our hope to return as soon as possible. Until then our Uptown family will gather in one location on Sunday night at our Carrollton Campus.
COMMUNITY GROUPS – We had a great re-launch of our community groups this past week. Life was meant to live in community. We love seeing so many people connecting with our weekend gatherings but we want to highly encourage you to join our community groups. You can find out more @ www.vintagenola.org/community
VOLUNTEERS – We are going to try and share our needs over the next month, but I’m going to take the liberty to give you a heads up. We are in desperate of need of volunteers across the board. There are way to many people not serving. Please know that if you are a recent guest and still searching for the Truth, this is not intended for you. To everyone else…WE NEED YOUR HELP.
On both campuses we need help in the following areas:
-Production (Setup-Teardown)
-Kids (babies-5th grade)
-Connect (hospitality)
Uptown Campus – please email Pastor Brick ([email protected])
Metairie Campus – please email Pastor Griff ([email protected])
NEW GATHERINGS ARE COMING – Metairie Campus is slammed out and our Uptown Campus isn’t far behind. We will probably be launching a new gathering in Metairie pretty soon. When this happens we are going to need for some of our faithful family to wake up a little early so that we can make room for new people to meet Jesus.
I love you guys and I love being your pastor. Live the Gospel, love the city, be the church.
