Why Can’t We
Without calling this person out, I got really aggravated by someone’s tweet today. Basically he said how aggravated he was hearing all the boasting on twitter by pastors around the country. Unless this dude was reading something like…
“I am the sexiest pastor in the world.” or “Jesus is lucky to have my church on his team.” or “I am the reason why everyone came to church and I am the only reason why people got saved today.”
…he has got a major problem. I followed up on this idiot and read some of his previous tweets. One of his previous tweets was all about his favorite college basketball team. What a loser! I went even farther down his timeline and saw that he really loved food, retweeting old angry theologians, and did I say his favorite college bball team. Sadly this man is a pastor and he has a family. I couldn’t find not one tweet about either his church or family.
So, here is a quick note to this guy and anyone else who is in his camp:
Mr. I-get-aggravated-when-a-pastor-tweets-about-his-church-because-I-am-self-righteous-loser-that-doesn’t-have-many-friends-or-people-in-his-church-getting-saved-or-even-coming-so-I-read-dead-guys-and-live-in-my-organic-bubble-twitter-hating-guy,
Repent of your self-righteous laziness and get excited about what Jesus is doing around our country and the world.

Seriously, I am loving all the amazing tweets that I am reading from pastors and churches around the country. Obviously we all have to keep our pride in check, but WHY CAN’T WE get excited about Jesus and the church. Baptisms, record attendances, money being raised and used to help people, mission trips, etc., etc., etc. I live in a city where people get so excited about the most superficial shallow things. Mardi Gras beads, football, music, and food hail as king in this city. I personally love all four, especially the food. But I am praying that we will have as many New Orleanians (if not more) tweeting about their love for Jesus and His church more than their love for a Superbowl win.
Thanks for letting me vent.
